A unique partnership between businesses in Washington State and the Legislature was created to address the rising cost of higher education through businesses such as Microsoft and Boeing. Qualifications for scholarship candidates include an intention to pursue a bachelor’s degree in high employer demand fields such as engineering, technology, math (STEM), health care, or science. These college monies are awarded to low and middle income students who are residents of Washington State with a high school diploma or GED from there. Aid ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 per year and over 750 new scholars are chosen each year.
Western Washington University Scholarships

The Associated Students Leadership Award is given to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing and having shown involvement in campus activities. Several diversity scholarships are available including the Multicultural Achievement Program, American Indian Endowed Scholarship, and the Nahbi Ram Joshi Scholarship. Out of state students may benefit from the Western Undergraduate Exchange program for a non-resident tuition reduction.

Grange Insurance Group
Twenty-five scholarships have been funded each year by the Grange Insurance Group, for a total of $26,500. Grange Insurance functions in Washington and five other western states. Awards are given in amounts of $1,500 and $1,000 based upon the pursuit of academic or vocational training. Applicants must be policy holders of Grange Insurance Association or a child of a current GIA company employee.
Women in Business Scholarship
Wells Fargo Washington Women’s Roundtable has partnered with The Seattle Foundation to aid continuing education for women business owners in Western Washington. Amounts are awarded between $4,000 and $6,000 and eligibility requirements are related to leadership, commitment, community, and business.
Washington State Auto Dealers Association Scholarship
